Management Methods on International Students' Apartments


 

In order to strengthen the standardized management of the apartments of international students (hereinafter referred to as the “international students”), to maintain the public order of apartments of international students, to create a safe, clean, tidy, civilized living and learning environment, the method is formulated according to “Regulations on Management of Ordinary Institutes of Higher Learning” and “Management Methods on Recruiting and Training International Students” by Ministry of Education, and combined with the actual situation of our university.

Article 1 All the international students who want to live in the apartments shall handle accommodation procedures by showing Admission Letter and the relevant certificates. International students shall pay the lodging fee on time, and move in according to the designated room number and bed number.

Article 2 The international students who have moved in shall get room keys from dormitory supervisor, and room keys shall not be lent to others or duplicated privately. Once the key is lost, it shall be promptly reported so as to have the lock core replaced, the correlative costs of which shall be borne by the international student concerned.

Article 3 The international students shall pay dormitory deposit when moving in, and shall keep and use properly the furniture and facilities in apartments. If damages to furniture or facilities are found, it should be reported to the dormitory supervisors in time for repair.

Article 4 When international students move in apartments, rooms or beds are not allowed to be exchanged. In principle, if changes are needed for special reasons, the international student himself or herself shall make a written application to Overseas Education College and Logistic Service Group for approval. In principle, application from the same international student for dorm changes shall be accepted only once.

Article 5 In order to optimize the allocation of international students’ accommodation resources and the overall layout of the campus, our university may adjust accommodation for international students. The international students living in dormitory should consciously obey and actively cooperate with the relocation work.

Article 6 In order to maintain the safety of the dormitory area, the international students living in dormitory should consciously abide by the rules on security of our university, assist supervisors to do security work well, and report accident potential in a timely manner. It is strictly prohibited to bring flammable, explosive and other dangerous goods into dormitory. No outsiders may stay up the night in the dormitory.

Article 7 The international students shall abide by usage rules of the water and electricity consumption system of apartments, and pay utilities according to the regulations. Power shall be cut off when nobody is in the room, and it is strictly prohibited to lay power line, network cable, and telephone line or to use illegal appliances. Dormitory supervisors have the right to investigate and handle the behaviors of storing and using illegal appliances in apartments or rooms as well as other illegal electricity consumption behavior.

Article 8 The international students shall maintain conscientiously public facilities such as public kitchen and laundry room, save water and electricity consumption, keep the public places clean and hygienic. When international students use the public stove, washing machine and other equipment, they must operate according to the instructions and regulations. The electric heating equipment can’t be used outside public kitchen and no open fire can be used.

Article 9 The international students shall observe the work and rest system in our university. International students should return to dormitory on time at night. When returning to the dormitory after the dormitory closes, the international student must register with his/her valid certificates and tell the reason. No arbitrarily staying out all night is allowed.

Article 10 All members of the dormitory have the responsibility to keep the dormitory clean and tidy, and to keep the furniture and furnishings in good order. It is prohibited to spit everywhere and to litter sundries, and indoor garbage bags shall be put into the designated garbage can consciously.

Article 11 It is prohibited to throw all kinds of articles out of or cross over the window or balcony. Please keep the water pipe in the dormitory unimpeded and never litter sundries into washbasin (sink) or toilet.

Article 12 Dormitory shall be kept quietly, and it is prohibited to make a racket, play high decibel music, or to do other activities that affect others’ study and rest. The collective activities held in dormitory building must be approved by Overseas Education College.

Article 13 It is prohibited to carry out promotion, business and other commercial activities (including online commercial activities) in the dormitory area.

Article 14 It is forbidden to collect, spread, read, or watch the books, videos, and online information that endanger the security of the country, disrupt the order of social life or is unhealthy.

Article 15 It is forbidden to establish illegal organizations, hold illegal assemblies, or write and post slogans or posters that endanger national safety or impair campus teaching, management and life order.

Article 16 Foreign Students should compensate for public facilities damaged by him/her in the dormitory according to the cost; where the cause and responsibility of public property damage is not clear, it shall be compensated jointly by the dormitory members; for the deliberate damage, it shall be handled depending on the severity and according to relevant provisions of “Rules on Disciplinary Sanction for Foreign Students of Nanjing Tech University".

Article 17 The international students in suspension of schooling shall go to dormitory supervisor to handle checkout procedures with relevant certificates. The original bed shall no longer be retained, and accommodation shall be otherwise arranged after going back to our university.

Article 18 The articles remained in rooms due to the reasons such as room change, leaving upon graduation and dropout, which exceeds the prescribed time limit but lack safekeeping procedures, shall be disposed of as articles without owner.

Article 19 The methods shall be implemented as of the date of issuance.
