2017 International Students Seminars (VII) - Introduction of Majors


In order to help 2017 fresh international students to adapt to the university life and to improve their understanding of academic study, College of Overseas Education  invites teachers of major colleges and senior students to give seminars.

A series of seminars were given in the last four days, COE invited Prof. Monti from School of Civil Engineering, Prof. Ryad Chellali from School of Electrical Engineering and Control Science, Prof. MIAO Wenjun from School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Prof. GUAN Xinjie from School of Computer Science and Technology, Prof. FEI Zhonglin from School of Economics and Management and other senior international students to conduct introductions on academic study. Seminars focused on the general situation of majors, discipline construction, professional and technical applications, research status, employment prospects and other aspects. They also gave suggestions on career development.

Seminars also invited students of 2015 and 2016 batch to share their learning experience and methods. New students were actively asking questions about their interests and the atmosphere is very active.

The aim of these seminars is to enhance fresh students’ understanding of majors and to develop the communication between new students and teachers. It’s not only benefit for inspiring their interest on study but also laid a solid foundation for them in the future learning.
