2017 International Students Seminars (II) Seminar on Immigration Laws and Regulations


In order to strengthen the law and safety education for the overseas students of Nanjing Tech University, and to enhance the legal consciousness and safety awareness of them, on September 11th afternoon,College of Overseas Education invited Mr. Hu Chaoying, the police officer of Entry and Exit Administration Office of Nanjing Public Security Bureau, to host a lecture on immigration laws and regulations for overseas students in the classroom of Pujiang B205. The teachers and all the overseas students of 2017 attended this lecture.

Mr. Hu firstly asked the overseas students to properly keep their passports, emphasizing that there should be no alteration on their passports, and explained the different types and usages of visas, reminding that students should pay attention to the expiration time of the visa and some other important information as well. Then, Mr. Hu introduced the entry and exit laws and regulations for foreigners and some typical cases. He also introduced the rules of temporary accommodation registration in detail, especially the way of registering when they went out of the university to travel. Finally, Mr. Hu explained some cases on theft and fraud prevention, as well as traffic safety,etc. and reminded that students should do a good job of self protection.

After Mr. Hu’s explanation, the lecture went into an interactive question-and-answer session. International students have asked Mr. Hu about their problems and have been answered in detail.
The lecture was successfully completed. After the lecture, the international students have said that they have gained much knowledge, which were their practical concerns and great help for their study and life in the future.
