Meeting with University of Queensland on The 2+2 Dual Degree Program

In the afternoon of Sept 10th, Prof. NIU Shengjie (Vice President) had a meeting with the delegation led by Prof. LI Rongyu (Deputy Vice-Chancellor) from University of Queensland (UQ). Prof NIU, along with representatives from College of Overseas Education, Office of Teaching Affairs, College of Electrical Engineering and Control Science and other departments, welcomed Prof. LI, Aleksandar Rakic and Angela Li in the conference room of the state key lab building. Both universities had an in-depth discussion on the 2+2 dual degree program and potential cooperation in the future.

Prof. NIU gave a brief introduction to NanjingTech. He said that NanjingTech is ready to work with one of the world top-50 universities and the 2+2 Program will improve the cultivation of students, scientific research and internationalization of both universities.

Prof. LI gave a brief introduction to the cultivation, scientific research and student satisfaction of UQ. He said that UQ values its cooperation with NanjingTech and the 2+2 Program will become a success in the future through joint efforts. UQ is also interested in the potential cooperation in architecture, civil engineering and chemical engineering.

During the meeting, Prof. Rakic of UQ and the other representatives of NanjingTech also shared their suggestions on the 2+2 Program as well as joint PhD cultivation and exchange of students and teachers.

At the end of the meeting, Prof. NIU and Prof. LI signed theRecognition of Prior Learning (RPL) Agreementconcerning the credit transferring of Electronic Engineering on behalf of their respective university.

1. The University of Queensland, founded in 1909, is the first comprehensive university in the State of Queensland, Australia. It is also one of the largest and most well-known universities and a member of “Group of Eight” in Australia.

2. The 2+2 Program on Electronic Engineering (Bachelor) between NanjingTech and UQ is a dual-degree, double-campus and credit-transfer joint cultivation program which starts its enrollment of students in 2019.
